Before I start this review:

I received this product for testing and reviewing purposes through Influenster. You can find more information here or here.

When I first opened my Influenster SweetHeart VoxBox, I was pleasantly surprised by the design of this bottle. I remembered passing by this brand before, possibly at a pharmacy. However, I did not look at the item again until a week later because I never style my hair as any attempt to do so in the past was generally a miserable experience.

I will say this wholeheartedly: I will be purchasing this item, and possibly the rest of the Not Your Mother’s line in the future.

Why?

Well, simply put, this didn’t make me hate my hair, and it did not make me feel like my time styling my hair was wasted. In fact, the spray felt light, and added volume to the thinning hair I have at my roots. It did not smell like I was adding plastic to my hair. It did not feel sticky. It did not tangle my already combed hair. It did not stiffen into solid matter in hair.

I love this spray! The purpose of any product such as this is to make your work easier, and that’s exactly what it did. Thank you Influenster and Not Your Mother’s!!

Fandom would actually be a better place if everyone were always on ONTD. It’s an incredibly entertaining reality check to keep people from taking celebrity gossip too seriously.

ONTD is my favorite place to go for fandom related stuff, tbh. The discussion is a lot easier to follow (tumblr is a mess when it comes to that) and is pretty insightful. And anyone who takes ONTD super seriously needs to not be there, tbh.

F’reals on the discussion thing. Like, Tumblr’s reblogging thing is cool and awesome in a way that LJ just isn’t structured, but as far as consistent discussion and being able to read everything in one place, LJ’s got that beat. I don’t really frequent forums/message boards anymore, but LJ has always had that sort of atmosphere to it and for some things it works a lot better than the reblogging system. Reblogging has its benefits to be sure (spreading content to a wider audience, namely), but it’s easy to miss things and people can’t have private discussions within a single post. Your followers can comment on your posts, but in order to respond you have to make another post, blah blah blah. I THINK WordPress is set up so that you can do BOTH. I know you can respond like on LJ, and I believe they also have a reposting feature that sources the original post.

Just go into a FFA and read a comment where someone is having an incredibly difficult time with something, anything and read the responses and then get back at me about how there is nothing positive on that site.

I have to say, my recent love of cooking shows just keeps growing and growing. New to that list of TV shows is The Taste, which started airing on ABC at the end of January. So far, the concept has been fun to watch, as each of the four celebrity chefs has a team, where no one is safe by virtue of being on that team. This lends for a refreshing take on cooking competitions, as the food truly is judged solely by its taste. I will definitely keep tuning in, and rooting for Nigella’s team :)
